Pallet production without jigs and zero labour

Zero labour, zero jigs

The most unique about this solution is that we work without the classic moulds (jigs) where the operators typically place the wooden parts in. All other robotised concepts use robots for either the joining (e.g. nailing or screwing) or for the holding or replacing of the parts, but our robots are programmed in a way they can do both. As a result, the jigs that are needed in the classic way to prevent the minimal and relative moving of the parts between the holding and joining phase of the robot arms, become redundant. The fact that the holding and joining of the parts is done in 1 time yields a higher quality and accuracy of the accepted tolerances.

The only human action needed is to provide the wood.

A time winning solution

The main objective was to reduce the changeover time and produce 24/7 continuously. Because no jigs are needed, products of various dimensions can be assembled easily on after another, as no mould changes are necessary any longer.

Continuous workflow by automatic tool change

The nailers on the robots are have an automatic tool change feature and are recharged automatically while nailing further with the other automatic tools. All tools are positioned in the right place according to the chosen programming; so changing from one pallet type to another is done fully automatically in only a few minutes.
